I get these calls too just like loads of other people, and the Police never seem to do anything except try to catch us out on little driving fines using CCTV. Feels like the police are just another bunch chasing cash like the scammers themselves. They’ve got all this fancy tech and yet can’t seem to stop these scammers from targeting millions of folks every single day. Honestly, there should be laws making it illegal for the Police to just sit back and do nothing while these massive scams keep going on.

Just like others have said, I've been getting calls from loads of different numbers all tied to the same company, ringing at all sorts of times. It's proper harassment, and with young kids around, I think this kind of thing is risky. I seriously doubt these callers have any DBS clearance. If one of my kids picked up and started chatting or giving out details, I’d be really worried about what might happen. Honestly, this kinda pestering ought to be against the law - and, actually, it already is!

Got a call from Cabot about debt collection. They said they won’t send bailiffs without a court order, but might send a "field agent" to "help you reconnect." Thing is, I never even spoke to them before, so what’s there to reconnect with? Bit odd if you ask me.

cabot financial services, a debt collector in the uk, rings both landlines and mobiles. they were asking for mr johnathan bloggish (made-up name here). the surname’s right but first name's wrong. even my two sons, who share the same first initial, get these calls. i told them to: 1. ask who exactly is calling and why 2. check which mr bloggish they mean 3. pretend they don’t know anyone by that name, even if they do, coz think about how many john smiths or james browns live in a country this size 4. simply block the number.
