Whenever I get scam calls or texts, I always report them through the ICO website. They handle giving big fines to these companies. I've had some problems before, and once I reported them, the calls stopped in just a few days. I even tell scammers that I'll report them and they never ring again. Definitely worth the effort.

Got a call from a woman pushing some deal that supposedly saves you cash on shopping and travel. The audacity to keep pestering me for my card info even after I told her flat out I wasn’t interested. Got a call from a bloke called Kuli who reckoned he could save me hundreds on everything except food shopping. He offered a 4-week trial for just £1, said they worked with Groupon too, so I’d get an extra 5% off. Seemed tempting, so I asked for the website to check it out. He told me if I went through the site, I wouldn’t get the free trial though. When I asked what it would cost after the trial, he said £98 a year. I asked if he could ring me back that evening so I could talk it over with my partner. He said he finished at 2 pm but could call again tomorrow at the same time. I’ve since tried to find the website but no luck - tried www.moneyclub1988.com and www.moneyclub1998.com, nothing comes up. He also mentioned payments were by direct debit, so no need to hand over card details. Honestly, be careful and don’t fall for this one!

I got a call from this so-called "Premier Shopping" business. If you pick up, they try real hard to charm you. If you’ve got a smartphone, definitely get an app like "Mr. Call" - it lets you block numbers you don’t want.
