About 10 million homes will need to give their energy meter readings to their provider this weekend so they don’t end up paying too much when the cheaper rates kick in on 1st April. From next month, the typical household’s energy bill is expected to drop to its lowest in two years, as Ofgem has reduced the price cap following a fall in wholesale costs.

If you’re planning a getaway for later this year, Haven has some cracking deals. You can get a four-night stay from just £49, which means if you’re travelling with three mates, it works out to about £3 each a night by the sea. Proper good value if you ask me!

Today, Vladimir Putin warned that Russia will take down any F-16 fighter jets that Western nations provide to Ukraine. He also mocked the Czech Republic, saying they're worried about a Russian attack that he insists won’t take place. Speaking at a Russian air force training base in Torzhok, Tver region, Putin mentioned that even though some countries are training pilots to fly these jets, it won’t really impact the fighting on the ground. "We will take out those planes just like we handle tanks, armoured vehicles, and other gear, including rocket launchers," he said.

I always look forward to the start of spring, when the daylight stretches out a bit more and the trees start flowering - it's like nature’s way of telling us it’s time for spring cleaning again. If you’ve got a stove or an open fire, this is the perfect moment to get it checked over or arrange for a chimney sweep to come by.

There’s been quite a bit of concern about that £75 million interest rate agreement the Plymouth City Council made. Turns out some of the dates on a key paper were changed, and also the signature on it wasn’t actually from the finance chief. Auditors looked into it and discovered he hadn’t signed the document at all, yet his signature appeared there somehow.

We've been hearing about the Yellow Legged Asian Hornet showing up around here, and beekeepers are urging folks to watch out because these insects can be really harmful to honeybees. This species isn't native to our area and is known to prey heavily on honeybees, but they also go after lots of other pollinating insects like wasps and flies. Definitely something to keep an eye on!

On 8th November, I got a call from a company I’d never heard of before. They were asking for Mr Richardson, but the bloke on the phone was really disrespectful. I’ve saved the call log. The guy actually insulted me and accused me of some terrible things. I’ve involved the police because of this. The firm is UPLIFTO, supposedly located in Plymouth, registered at 74 Underlane, Plympton. They also have a mailing address in Truro. Apparently, the main person there is Daniel Carrington, and he works with someone named Sarah.

Does the new Business Development Manager for Uplifto know about Nigel Roach, aka Mr Carrington, ending up behind bars for scamming the elderly and disabled? Bet she’s chuffed about that! Honestly, anyone working for him is just as guilty in my eyes. She’d better get googling him quick before it’s too late.

So, they've gone and given the green light to my next project... honestly, it's a joke. Ha ha ha, what absolute rubbish.

Wow, after tracing a number, I looked up Daniel Carrington, also known as Nigel Roach, and discovered he’s related to Benjamin Roach from Plymouth. Benjamin got sentenced to seven years for shaking his 4-month-old baby till she died! Both have done time behind bars. Honestly, I wouldn’t feel safe letting either of them in my house, would you? I’d way prefer going without a stairlift.

these days they go by cpc stairlifts since may 2021 but its still the same people behind it, nigel roach or sometimes daniel carrington. their address is unit 21 bell close in plympton. new company name but old history. they got caught and jailed for trading standards violations back in 2007. figured everyone should be warned so trading standards get told because plenty of folks might get scammed again.

A bloke from uplifto came round last week to collect my dad's stairlift. Honestly, he left the place in chaos and totally ignored wearing a mask. He kept getting way too close to us, like no regard for anyone’s safety, especially as my dad is shielding and really freaked out by it. Proper shocking behaviour, so I’ve reported him to the HSE. Would seriously suggest steering clear of this guy!

we have a contract with uplifto but our lift in the care home broke down, leaving 9 residents trapped on the first floor around 2pm. when we rang uplifto, it just went to a voicemail service instead of getting help straight away like the contract promised. we ended up having to hire a different company to sort it out. really disappointed, would steer clear!

I got a call from someone named Dan, so I decided to do a reverse lookup on the number. Turns out he did a stairlift installation for my grandma, but he also had my mobile number. The job was really badly done and he kept pushing her to sign a contract. It left her quite distressed, and honestly, I wasn’t happy about it either.

So this firm, Uplifto, is run by a bloke called Daniel Carrington, but turns out he used to go by the name Nigel Roach before he legally changed it. Nigel Roach actually got in trouble with trading standards back in 2007. If you want to see the full story, just google "staifift con man plymouth".

Watch out for Uplifto, a stairlift business managed by Daniel Carrington, who also goes by Nigel Roach. He’s got a dodgy past, having done time for fraud and breaking trading standards rules. His sales approach is pushy, often forcing folks into unnecessary maintenance deals, then disappears when you try to get in touch. Definitely stay cautious!
