Some bloke just called claiming to be from ? security but then they just dropped the call on me. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

He never said his name, just wanted to talk to me. My missus answered and asked who was calling. He replied, 'Just pass him here, Love.' I could tell by his voice he had an Indian accent. My wife shot back, 'I won't hand the phone over unless you tell me who you are, Love!'

Got a call with an Indian accent, there was a strange pause before he spoke. He claimed to be from Amazon's security team but then just dropped the call abruptly. Quite suspicious!

Scam alert - as soon as I started asking questions, they just went silent.

Seems like a total scam to me.

I've got BT Call Minder, and whenever a scammer rings, they often just drop the call once the system asks them to say who they are. Seems like they’re not keen on revealing themselves.

I got a call out of the blue even though I’m on the TPS. When I answered, it was obviously a predictive dialler since no one actually spoke! Total hassle and really annoying!

I picked up the phone and some bloke with an accent I couldn’t place started off with a name and then asked all friendly-like, "How are you today?" I just stayed silent, and he hung up pretty quick. Honestly, these calls drive me mad. What on earth does some random person want with how I’m doing?

This person said they were from Amazon and kept telling me to get on my computer because supposedly £300 had been charged to my account. I told them to find real work and then they just cut me off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, sounded like they had an Indian accent. I told them straight up, "You’re not," and hung up. Been getting lots of calls like this from the Richmond region. It’s frustrating because even though I block the number, they somehow manage to get through. This is happening a lot around the North West area. Would be good if there was a way to stop these nuisance calls completely.

I got a call from someone saying "Hi, this is Michael from Amazon's security team." I didn’t hang about before I just cut the call off. It’s obviously a scam, especially with all the warnings out there now. honestly, who falls for these sorts of calls anymore?

On 14/11/24, I got a call from this number saying they were from Amazon's 'Fraud Dept'. They told me someone named "Bell" (that's not me) had supposedly made two orders worth £630 and wanted my info to sort a refund. They also said they emailed me, but I never got anything. The caller didn’t give any proper proof. Definitely seemed like a con to me.

Got a call today where someone asked for my missus by her first name, but the voice didn’t sound right at all. When I asked who they were, they kinda stuttered and couldn't give a clear answer - reminded me of a silly game I heard about once! So, I checked my phone for the last number called, then dialled it back from my mobile. Sure enough, it came up as “Possible Spam.” From now on, I’m gonna do the same thing whenever my phone flags some numbers. Makes me feel safer that way.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon security saying my account was being used by another person. They told me to check my emails but when I asked a bit more, the guy said not to stress, that he was helping me. Then out of nowhere he got annoyed, saying I wasn’t paying attention and he’d just let them have my account. There was loads of noise like a busy office in the background, and the caller had an Indian accent. I just ended the call.

I can't think of a single reason why I'd get a call from Richmond. Probably a dodgy number or just someone bothering me. That 01748 825290, I reckon it’s just a nuisance.

Got a call from someone claiming to be "Amazon security" with an accent that sounded Asian. They said someone had signed into my Amazon and tried to buy something for £699. They told me to check my email, but I hadn’t got any message. Then they asked if I was on my laptop or phone, which raised red flags. I told them it sounded dodgy and they swore it wasn’t, but couldn’t give me a proper reason why, just kept saying I'd lose the money. Told them to bugger off. I still took some safety steps just in case. Watch out for these tricksters.

My mum, who’s 74, got a call from a woman speaking with a strange accent, claiming someone was trying to buy things on Amazon using mum’s account. She kept pushing my mum to look at her emails. But my mum said her daughter is in fraud prevention and asked the caller for their name - as soon as she did that, they hung up. It’s so appalling that these scammers keep targeting older folks and nothing happens to stop them.

Got a call with a really awful connection from someone saying I needed to look at my emails because apparently someone tried using my card. Problem is, they never said which card or which bank! They kept pushing me to do what they said, but I just told them I work with the police and was about to start my shift.
