7 yearsThey claimed to be from British Telecom, saying my internet was at risk and to press 1 to speak to a technician. Complete rubbish really... I use Virgin for my internet. Even if I was with BT, they handle the line to the exchange, so if there was an issue, they’d fix it without bothering me. No way an internet connection can just get “compromised” like that. Sounds like a classic scam to scare people into giving up money. I’m not falling for it. The number even starts with my local area code, so I think they’ve probably spoofed it to look legit. Proper con artists, honestly!British TelecomVirginSubmit Your Own Report (01737 170270)
