I just got a message like that too, about some transfer amount and where it’s supposed to be going. I’m based in Croydon as well.

I just got a call from this number, an automated voice claimed it was my bank trying to alert me that £600 had been spent abroad on my MasterCard. The weird thing is, they never said which bank it was, and I don’t even own a MasterCard. They told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone about it. Pretty clear scam to me. Calls like this can freak people out, so if you get one, definitely notify the police.
