01767319442 called me claiming to be from Amazon about a £700 purchase I never made. The person asked if I had a computer, which of course I do. He told me to go to my PC so he could give me some ID numbers to stop this happening again and said this would cancel the transaction. I said no and told him I’d reach out to Amazon myself. He even gave me an Amazon staff ID, but that seemed off. I didn’t push it further but checked both my Amazon and bank accounts, and there was nothing suspicious.

Then he asked for my address. I told him he should already have my info and refused to give it again, also asked how I could be sure he was legit. He replied that the call was being recorded and my details would be checked online after the call. I said no way I’m giving my address, and then he just hung up on me.
