It appears that this might be a call I’d rather avoid.

I received a rather dubious call from someone who insisted they were from the Sky tech support team. They alleged that there was a technical glitch with my router. The catch? I don't even have an account with Sky! Just a heads-up, everyone!

I got a call from 017268 16179, with someone pretending to be from Microsoft, saying there was a problem with my account. I told them I didn’t even use any Microsoft products since I’m on Linux! They insisted it was an issue with my Microsoft software. I joked that I’d need their IP address to whitelist it on my firewall, knowing they’d never give me that info. Then they said they’d connect to my computer using remote assistance. I told them again, I don’t use Windows. They got annoyed, started swearing at me and then just hung up!

Got a ring from 01726816179 saying they were from TalkTalk. They told me my laptop had been running slow for two years or something. I said I had to head to work, and then she went on about calling me back on Friday. I’m not holding my breath for that call!

Someone said they were from BT's tech support but I barely got a word in before they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

someone rang me pretending to be from my bank saying there was weird activity on my account. they wanted me to allow them to open a new account and move my money over. i wasn’t exactly nice about it and just told them to buzz off. O.

Just had a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Amazon, telling me there was a recent transaction on my account. I told her I don’t even have an Amazon account, but she kept insisting I should check with my bank about it. I had to keep repeating that I don’t have any account with them, yet I’m fed up with this rubbish. The authorities do nothing about these scammers and it’s so frustrating. I’ve been getting about 3 or 4 of these every single day for weeks now. It’s absolutely disgraceful.
