Received a ring on my phone from 01723 585263, this lady with an Asian accent said my Amazon Prime was compromised. I told her she was wrong, but she kept insisting I sign into my laptop. Couldn’t do that as I was working at the time. Then she told me to download some app on my phone, but my phone's really old and doesn’t support apps. After that, she just hung up. Guess being stuck with old tech has its perks!

I got a recorded call saying my Amazon subscription was up for renewal, and to stop it, I had to press 1. I pressed it just to see what would happen (I don't even have an Amazon account). Then they told me to enter -s-k in my app store, which apparently pulls up an app that lets others take control of your phone. After that, they passed me over to a 'supervisor' who asked what kind of phone I was using and if I do internet banking on it, claiming he needed this info to cancel the Amazon Prime. I told him he was trying to scam me and drain my bank account, then they just hung up.

I got a ring from this number at 10:42 this morning. Since lately i get plenty of calls like this, plus i don’t know anyone from Scarborough, i just let it stop ringing then blocked it straight away. Fingers crossed someone clever will figure out a fix for this annoying problem soon. Be careful and dont get caught out! Always think twice before picking up phone calls and stay safe out there.

Got a call from a Scarborough number saying there was something wrong with my Amazon Prime account and it was blocked. I don’t even have Prime! Definitely a scam, so best to just ignore it.

Got an automated call saying they were about to renew my Amazon Prime (which I don’t even have). They told me to talk to someone if I wanted to cancel. I didn’t bother going any further and just ended the call. This is the second time I’ve had a call like this, but it came from a different phone number this time.

I received a call from the number 01723585263 on my mobile this morning, Wednesday, 11th November 2020, right around 10:42 am. I didn’t recognise the number, nor do I know anyone in Scarborough. After letting the phone ring for a bit, I decided to block the caller. I've been inundated with these types of calls lately, and this seems to be the only way to alleviate the nuisance. One can only hope that, in the future, some clever soul will devise a solution to this incessant phone spam, offering some peace of mind to many of us. Just a word of caution: stay vigilant and avoid being ensnared by these callers!

Some bloke said he was calling from Amazon and wanted to get into my computer to help me stop a £79.99 charge. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon Prime account. When I told him I wasn’t letting him near my computer, he just hung up straight away.
