He said, “Hello Vodafone.” I hung up and called Vodafone myself. They told me: Thanks for reporting this, but that’s not a Vodafone number. Vodafone never calls customers from that sort of number, they always use landlines starting with 01, 02, or 03. They said they’d check into it, but judging by how long some others have been complaining about this number, it probably won’t be sorted anytime soon.

If you’re getting calls from this number around March or April 2019, it’s probably Vodaphone trying to reach you about your Demon internet account. Since Vodaphone took over Demon, they’re shutting down the Demon service and want customers to switch over to Vodaphone’s plans. They wouldn’t have sent any emails about it, because Demon’s email system stopped working back in 2017. So, it might be a good idea to give them a ring and see what’s going on.

Just spoke with Vodafone, and they actually admitted this number is used for their marketing. I’ve told them to put a stop to all those annoying calls because honestly, it’s the same story as a lot of others - they ring over and over every day, then when I pick up, nothing happens, and they totally ignore me when I ask them to leave me alone. Proper frustrating!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone wanting to discuss my account and all that nonsense. I told them straight up they were fibbing because my phone flagged the number as a scam. Told them to stop ringing me.

These blokes have been ringing me up twice daily for more than a fortnight! I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number, chuckling to myself. Yet they still keep trying to reach me, the determined little rascals! 😂

I put this number straight on my blocked list about a week ago, and now whenever they try to ring me, the call gets shut down straight away. I have no idea who these people are or what they want since the calls don’t even come through. Checking my call log, they’ve been stopped like 21 times in just the last week, so I reckon it’s just one of those automatic robo diallers. Reporting it to the TPS seems pointless to me - they don’t do much, take ages to follow up, and barely have the authority to deal with stuff like this properly.
