Got a call from this number tonight, some bloke saying my phone line was with BT and they wanted to buy it from me. I told him I was alright with my current provider, and then he started going on about some great offers. Got a call at about 3:15 in the afternoon, I said hello and this woman with a Yorkshire accent just replied hello and then cut off straight away. I dialled 1471 to check the number and then looked it up online, loads of folks seem to be getting these calls. Fingers crossed it stops soon, some people say theirs have gone on for ages.

On Saturday the 28th of June 2014 at about 11:45 in the morning, this number gave me a ring. The caller said it was time to renew my contract with BT and asked if I wanted to sort it out then. I hesitated, mentioning that I wasn’t sure my contract was even up yet (I had a look afterwards and my payments cover me until March 2015). I threw in that I was thinking about switching to TalkTalk, to which the caller quickly tried to push BT Sport charges on me. I told them I had no interest in BT Sport. After a bit more persistent selling and me standing my ground, the person abruptly said have a nice day and ended the call. I rang BT later and they confirmed they hadn’t made any calls to me.
