To be honest, I find it hard to believe this was a legitimate BT number, as most of these callers use 0800 numbers that lead to automated responses if you attempt to call back. They even had the cheek to play some background noise, attempting to mimic a bustling call centre! The woman on the line ought to feel embarrassed. Initially, they suggested they were associated with BT, but when we pressed them, they claimed to be reaching out on BT's behalf regarding broadband services. They identified themselves as Hero TFC.
