I’m really puzzled about what Vodafone, being abroad and some marketing number from Rotherham all have in common??

Feels like Vodafone must be sharing info on who’s roaming overseas and these companies are cashing in on it somehow.

It turned out to be a call from TSC (Telecom Service Centre), who claimed they were calling on behalf of Halifax. They provided a contact number, 08704 604506, and mentioned that I could speak to either Claire Ripley or Andrew Stephenson. I was advised to request that they remove my number from their directory. Subsequently, we also contacted Halifax directly and asked them to ensure our details were removed from any directories shared with marketing firms.

We consistently find that no one is on the other end as soon as we pick up (happens at least daily). We've opted to block the number now using a BT security option. We firmly declined to disclose anything, and the caller said he would follow up with a letter instead. Sure enough, a few weeks later, we got a piece of post from them, stating that our credit card limit had been raised because our account was in good standing. However, they also suggested we look into some credit card protection. While it seemed authentic, I can't shake the feeling that it was a rather clever setup for a sales pitch.

Heard from others that these telemarketers get paid based on how many calls they make daily and sometimes get bonuses if someone answers, even if no sale happens.
