I got a letter from Cabot Financial addressed to someone else who apparently owes money, with a phone number to ring. I didn’t bother calling it, seems dodgy to me.

This number keeps ringing me, then some robotic American voice comes on saying there’s an issue with my account and that I need to ring them back to pay up. Nah, not falling for that!

I got a call from some bloke with a weird accent, couldn’t make out a single word he was saying. I kept telling him I didn’t understand, but he just sounded more irritated. Eventually, I just ended the call ’cause it was making me really tense. No clue who it was.

For years now, different companies have been ringing me up, always calling me 'Antony' which isn't my name at all. They keep saying I owe money, but I've never had any debt, nor have I ever been called Antony before. I've told them loads of times to stop and that they're making a mistake, and they promise to remove me from their lists - yet the calls keep coming. Even though I'm signed up to the TPS, these calls never seem to stop. I'm quite vulnerable and it's really wearing me down.

We've been corresponding with these fools in South Africa regarding a debt we owe to Lloyds TSB Bank. It's been about a year and a half since we departed from the UK, and we shut down our account before we left. The audacity! They're even threatening to dispatch a debt collector to South Africa for a measly £169.78. Good luck with that, considering the flight back from the UK would easily rack up over £700 just to collect such a small amount. It’s utterly nonsensical! What a scam!

Received a message from someone named Rebecca who gave us this number to call. The message was quite pleasant, but I couldn't quite recall who she was, so I decided to look it up on Google, and here I am. Turns out it's a debt collection agency-how lovely! Just to add a bit of context, we filed for bankruptcy about twenty weeks ago! Nice try, though!

I shot off an automated email to this gentleman - Mr P. Gordon - at the PARKGATE INVESTIGATION BUREAU, P. O. Box 533, Rotherham, S62 6WW. And wouldn’t you know it, the royal post proved its worth by sending it back with a note saying ‘addressee moved on’. This suggests a couple of things: either Mr Gordon has vacated his position, or perhaps Parkgate is nothing more than a figment of someone’s imagination! Either way, it seems these folks might be operating under a false name, if you catch my drift.
