9 yearsGot a ring on my home phone today from a woman with an Asian accent asking for a Mr XXX. Since I’m a woman and live alone, I questioned who she was. She said she was from ‘telephone preference management’ and offered to help me block pesky calls (the irony was rich!). I told her I’m already signed up with the telephone preference service, and she hurriedly ended the call!XXX9 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be BT, saying my broadband was gonna be cut off tomorrow due to some "issue". Total scam, don’t fall for it!BT9 yearsI got a call from them too. Initially, the guy said he was ringing on behalf of BT. Then he quickly backtracked and said he was from Ofcom, raising some kind of security alert about my broadband. I work in IT, been there nearly two decades, so I found it a bit suspicious but played along to see what he’d say next. He then asked me to launch TeamViewer so he could take control of my computer and sort out the "problem". As soon as I questioned him a bit, he just hung up the phone.BTOfcom9 yearsSomebody called sayin' they was from Sky, saying there was a problem with my broadband's security and that it would be shut off by tomorrow. Bit fishy if you ask me, sounds like a scam.SkySubmit Your Own Report (01709 517730)
