My wife's been getting random calls on her mobile from unknown numbers. She's missed them all, and there’s never a voicemail left. She’s wise to it and wouldn’t answer, but it’s still really irritating that the scammer keeps calling. I guess they must be making enough from their calls to keep going. It’s so annoying that there isn’t an easy way to stop these scammers for good, but fingers crossed that sharing our experience might help others not fall for it.

Got a call about some lottery thing sayin I’d got 10 ticket entries or summat. They wanted me to verify my personal info but I just cut the call. Don’t gamble or play these games, so it’s clearly dodgy. Heads up everyone, it was a recorded message and could have been a trick to steal info or worse!

Twice yesterday and then again today, this number kept ringing me. When I decided to call back, there was a recorded voice that said, "Hello [they even said my name], can you hear me?" I just ended the call straight away. I’ve now blocked the number.

Got a call about winning 10 free lottery tickets or something like that, sounded fishy so I just hung up straight away.

I picked up and they said their phone line was acting up and they’d ring back later. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

This definitely seemed dodgy, they claimed I’d won 10 lottery tickets but I don’t even bother with the lottery. Then the woman on the phone began grilling me for all sorts of private info.

It definitely felt dodgy - they called me saying I’d bagged a free lottery ticket, but then started asking loads of personal info. Totally sketchy if you ask me.
