My mum's landline got two calls within just a couple of hours. She didn’t pick up since the caller ID showed an unknown number, and when the answerphone kicked in, the caller hung up straight away (we always let unknown numbers go to the answerphone). Honestly, I wish someone smart could figure out how to actually block all these annoying calls. I ended up cutting off our home landline entirely and just use my mobile now. Not perfect, but at least fewer idiots ring me there.
