They rang me up asking to verify my address for some security thing. I said I don’t have one. Then they pressed for my previous address, but I refused to share it. Honestly, just get a medium-sized dog - if a debt collector ever shows up, I reckon that’s the only thing they’ll be interested in! Don’t let anyone intimidate you, well, except maybe a judge.

They ring me nonstop and leave loads of messages. It's so frustrating. I've NEVER owed anyone a penny, honestly, never had any debt in my life. No mortgage either! I tried blocking their number at first, but now they call from unknown numbers that don't even show up. We're both retired and really don’t need this kind of hassle.

While I was at work, my phone rang and the number showing was 01706830603. The woman on the other end never mentioned her company or why she was ringing me. She asked for someone completely unrelated to me, so I told her to take my number off their list. Later, I looked up the number online and found out they’re ROSSENDALES Solicitors based in Rochdale. I don’t owe anything and find this call a real invasion of my privacy. Honestly, I think they should be held accountable for this.

got a call a bit ago but couldn’t pick up cause i’m deaf. it was a blocked call. if it’s debt collectors, look up getoutofdebitree(s##). bailiffs only have power if you let them in, so you can serve them a notice withdrawing any permission to enter under common law or issue a cease and desist. never hand over your name or say you live there. remember, it’s your right to record them from the start. don’t allow them inside, they’re not allowed to take your stuff without permission.

If you’re getting calls from debt collectors saying they’re working for the company you owe money to, don’t believe it. Most likely, your original creditor gave up on chasing you directly and sold your debt off to some third-party firm for a fraction of what you owe. Now it’s this third party that’s after the full repayment. The tricky part is, your creditor and this collection agency have transferred the debt agreement without asking you, which technically isn’t really legitimate. Here’s some good news though - if the debt was sold without checking if you agreed to pay the new company, then legally that debt might not even be valid anymore because the collectors essentially settled it when they bought it! Honestly, maybe you should send them a “thank you” card from WH Smith lol. Then, you should probably reach out to Experian to get your credit score updated.
