I thought I'd be able to enter my own info to get personalised quotes from well-known companies like AXA or Legal & General. But no, it just took my details and before I knew it, I was signed up to be contacted by Essential Insurance without realising. They called me a few times, and I didn’t know who it was at first so I ignored them. After the second call, I picked up when they rang again with a local number. I was a bit worried because I have family nearby and didn’t want to miss something urgent. The woman on the phone tried really hard to get me to speak to an advisor for a quote, but I ended the call as soon as they tried to transfer me. I blocked the number straight away, but they still managed to get through again somehow. I didn’t pick up and then got a text saying they’d try calling again in three hours. It was already 7pm and I can’t believe they planned to bother me at 10pm. It’s pretty dodgy in my opinion. I’d steer clear of that website - feels like a trick to get your info and pressure you for a sale.
