Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft, saying our servers here in the UK were under attack. When I mentioned my husband works in IT Security, he acted like he knew him personally and even said they'd studied together in Liverpool. I couldn't help but laugh out loud and told him exactly where to shove it! These daft calls come all the time, they must reckon we're total mugs!!!

Just got a call today 11/01 at 14:21 from someone claiming to be Microsoft. They said there was an issue with my PC and asked if I (they actually used my name) was the owner. I already knew this was a scam from seeing this number before, so I told them my computer was fine and to quit bothering me with these bogus calls!

At around 9 in the morning, a woman with an Indian accent rang me up. I immediately suspected it was a con, but decided to humour her. She said my computer was completely fine, no issues whatsoever, but claimed it had been hacked and was vulnerable. I then told her straight that I wasn’t falling for it and politely told her to buzz off - didn’t use those exact words though. I also made it clear I didn’t want her calling me again. I’m certain she or someone similar will be back on the phone. Over the years, I’ve had these kinds of nuisance calls sporadically from all sorts of numbers. Luckily, I’m sharp enough to spot these dodgy calls and ignore them now!

Got a call saying it was Microsoft saying my computer got hacked. I told them no it ain't been hacked yet cos they ain't in and hung up quick. Number prob from Rochdale but when I picked up the person was chatting with others in some eastern language, switched to English right away when I answered. Feels like they just use the Rochdale number to pretend they’re an English office. If anyone says they’re from Microsoft just tell them to jog on straight away.

Microsoft told me that this number used to belong to them. The caller, who said his name was 'Michael', said my Microsoft licence had been compromised and used by others. He wanted to cancel the current licence and set up a new one. I rang BT to check and there weren’t any charges for calls made to that number. It’s a bit odd that BT lets an old, no longer active number be taken over by someone pretending to be from Microsoft.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent, said his name was Michael and claimed to be from Microsoft about an issue with my computer. I told him straight away it was my mum’s phone, she’s 95 and doesn’t even have a computer, then told him firmly to get lost and he just hung up. I get these calls on my own number all the time, sometimes I mess with them, other times I just snap and hang up. These calls are an absolute nuisance and really need to be stopped. Luckily, I have a device that blocks loads of them before they even ring through.

Can't say who it was since I hung up straight away - but when I noticed the number, I rang back four times and each time the line just cut off. How does BT let these callers have numbers that you can't get through to? I reckon they ought to have some responsibility here. These calls come at weekends, and for me, it's to an elderly relative, which is really upsetting. It's just not right.

Heads up! Early this morning about 8.40am, we got a call. Even though we was aware of scammers and hackers, somehow they still managed to fool two of our team who were covering for staff. They said our computer had been breached on Christmas Day and all our details were online. They pretended to be from Microsoft and, despite us asking lots of questions, they gave us an address from Reading. The call got dropped but later on we looked up the number and found out it was a total scam. They even tried charging my credit card, but thankfully it didn’t go through. The caller ID showed 0131 618 8661 and the name they used was Shaun Michael.

Got a call earlier today, sounded like someone was there but they never said a word. Tried calling back later, and a different person said they were from Microsoft, claimed my PC was hacked and my info was stolen, but they could fix it. When I asked how they knew which computer or what system I use, they said they didn’t have that info, only some personal details, but could give me a reference number. That’s when I said I wasn’t buying it and asked them to stop bothering me, then ended the call. Thankfully I’ve got a call block feature, so that number’s been blocked now.

At 12:20 on 04/01/17, a bloke with an Indian/Pakistani accent rang, saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer had been compromised. He got more and more pushy when I said it sounded like a scam. He hung up when I told him I'd call back through the company’s official number to check. Looking back, there's no way Microsoft would have my number, but I didn’t realise that straight away!

I got a call earlier from some bloke called John Matthews, claimed to be from Microsoft. He was going on about how hackers were messing with my computer from all around the globe. When I told him it sounded like a load of rubbish, he said because I wasn’t paying attention, Microsoft would be blocking my PC so it wouldn’t work anymore. Then he warned me not to say I hadn’t been warned! After that, he mumbled a bit and just ended the call. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from a lady called Margaret with an Indian accent at 7:52 this morning telling me my computer had a virus. I knew straight away it was a scam as I don’t use Microsoft at all. I asked her to give me their ISP number instead. Then they put me through to Michael, also with an Indian accent, who sarcastically said I was "very clever" and warned me he was gonna make me "proper angry" before just hanging up. I've reported the whole thing to the police. These phone companies really ought to block these muppets.

These daft lot ring me almost daily and no matter how many ways I try to tell them they’re wasting their time or to piss off, it just doesn’t work. So all I can do now is keep blocking their numbers, only for them to hire a new one from BT (cheers BT for looking after your UK customers properly!). They keep coming up with the same tired Microsoft scam every single time. The worst part is, if they ring 100 people, there’ll be a couple of muppets who fall for it and get totally ripped off!

So today, 30/11/16, I got a call from a woman using the number 01706218826, which seemed to be from outside the UK. She claimed to be from Microsoft. I told her straight up I knew it was a load of rubbish and told her where to go. She hung up, I believe. Just a reminder, swearing at these dodgy calls isn't illegal! Say what you want!

Got a call at 7.10 in the morning!!! Lucky I didn't get to the phone quick enough. I checked the number by dialling "1471" and this is what showed up. Proper companies with real reasons to call rarely ring that early, and if they do, you'd usually know the number straight away.

Got a call first thing at 7.45am. Didn’t check the caller ID, thought it could be something about family. Turned out to be a canned spiel about my computer running slowly. Quite worried they might have some of my info - how on earth do they get it? Obviously, I blocked the number straight away.

Yesterday morning at 9:28, I got a call from someone claiming to be Jason at Microsoft. He said, "Good morning Madam, I'm calling regarding your computer today." I didn't hang about and told him straight up, "This is a scam call." Then he just ended the call. These kinds of calls really annoy me, and they could easily trick people. I wonder if they mostly go after older folks?

Today, I got 13 calls from the same number - they kept going on and on, telling me to turn on my laptop so they could fix some supposed hacking issue they claimed to have spotted. Knowing they already had my address and quite a bit of my info really creeped me out. I ended up ringing the cops about it. Honestly, it baffles me how these scammers are still out there and nobody's stopped them yet.

Previously, someone from this number gave me hassle about issues with my internet, trying to ‘help’ with who my provider was and what problems I had. This afternoon at about 3.45pm, I got a ring from this number. My phone has BT call screening that asks callers to say who they are before putting the call through. Almost always, these junk calls just stay silent or hang up straight away. It’s so annoying to have the phone ringing for no good reason, sometimes it happens loads of times in a single day. I don’t usually bother with dialling 1471 but today I did and confirmed this was the number calling. After I told a scammer to get lost once, I decided to get new phones with this screening built in. They weren’t pricey and honestly, they’ve been well worth it to stop all the nonsense.

Anita was the one ringing again - got two calls last Saturday, another two Monday, and one today. Same old tale about my Microsoft computer being involved in dodgy stuff, and if she could access it, she'd prove it. This con is getting a bit tired now - hung up as soon as I said I don't own any Microsoft devices. She said she was calling from Reading, by the way.

1pm on 16/11/2016, sounded like an Indian bloke from some 'Microsoft dept' still pestering! When I asked where he was calling from, he said Reading, then when asked which county, he said West Berkshire. Funny thing is, the landline code is actually for Rochdale. Same old story when I asked how he knew I wasn’t being scammed - he claimed my computer has a unique number only Microsoft and I would know. I've heard this before and it's rubbish. Just so you know, Microsoft won’t call you unless you’ve rung them first. Ended up blocking the number.

Phone rang at 8:27 this morning, my husband picked up. The caller said, "Good morning, sir, this is Microsoft," so my husband passed the phone to me.
