Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from Microsoft, saying our servers here in the UK were under attack. When I mentioned my husband works in IT Security, he acted like he knew him personally and even said they'd studied together in Liverpool. I couldn't help but laugh out loud and told him exactly where to shove it! These daft calls come all the time, they must reckon we're total mugs!!!

I just had a phone call a short while ago today, 1st November, at around 14:21. The bloke on the line claimed to be from Microsoft, insisting there was an issue with my computer and wanted to confirm if I, (insert my name), was indeed the owner. Having already done my homework on this number, I recognised it as a scam straight away. I told him there was absolutely nothing wrong with my computer and to kindly refrain from bothering me with such calls!

This morning at 9, I received a call from a lady with an Indian accent. I was well aware it was a con, yet I decided to humour her for a bit. She claimed my computer was in perfect working order, but somehow it had been hacked and was in jeopardy. I swiftly let her know that I was onto her little game and firmly instructed her to depart (let's just say I chose some more colourful language) and requested she cease contacting me. I'm fully cognizant that she, or perhaps another one of her ilk, will inevitably ring me again. I've been enduring these sorts of calls from various numbers over the years. Thankfully, my wits are still intact, allowing me to recognise these scams for what they truly are.

It’s high time we reconsider our association with BT if they’re unable to safeguard their legitimate clientele.

Got a call saying it was Microsoft saying my computer got hacked. I told them no it ain't been hacked yet cos they ain't in and hung up quick. Number prob from Rochdale but when I picked up the person was chatting with others in some eastern language, switched to English right away when I answered. Feels like they just use the Rochdale number to pretend they’re an English office. If anyone says they’re from Microsoft just tell them to jog on straight away.

I received word from Microsoft that this number is quite outdated in their records. It seems there’s a concern that someone has gained unauthorised access to my Microsoft licence and is misusing it. A chap named 'Michael' has expressed the desire to revoke the current licence and issue a fresh one. I spoke to BT about it and they confirmed I haven’t incurred any charges for any calls to this number. It’s rather unsettling that BT would permit a legit number that’s no longer in use to be adopted by someone else purporting to act on behalf of the firm.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent, said his name was Michael and claimed to be from Microsoft about an issue with my computer. I told him straight away it was my mum’s phone, she’s 95 and doesn’t even have a computer, then told him firmly to get lost and he just hung up. I get these calls on my own number all the time, sometimes I mess with them, other times I just snap and hang up. These calls are an absolute nuisance and really need to be stopped. Luckily, I have a device that blocks loads of them before they even ring through.

Can't say who it was since I hung up straight away - but when I noticed the number, I rang back four times and each time the line just cut off. How does BT let these callers have numbers that you can't get through to? I reckon they ought to have some responsibility here. These calls come at weekends, and for me, it's to an elderly relative, which is really upsetting. It's just not right.

Cautionary note! This morning at precisely 8:40am, we received a call that turned out to be dubious in nature. Despite our awareness of the rampant scams and hacking attempts out there, two of our team members were unfortunately duped into believing that our computer had been compromised on Christmas Day, with our personal details floating about online. The callers claimed to represent Microsoft and, even after posing numerous questions, they provided an address in Reading. Midway through the call, our line was disconnected. After conducting some research on the number, it became abundantly clear that it was a con. They attempted to siphon money from our credit card, but thankfully, they were unsuccessful. The individual I spoke with identified himself as Shaun Michael, using the phone number 0131 618 8661.

Got a call earlier today, sounded like someone was there but they never said a word. Tried calling back later, and a different person said they were from Microsoft, claimed my PC was hacked and my info was stolen, but they could fix it. When I asked how they knew which computer or what system I use, they said they didn’t have that info, only some personal details, but could give me a reference number. That’s when I said I wasn’t buying it and asked them to stop bothering me, then ended the call. Thankfully I’ve got a call block feature, so that number’s been blocked now.

At 12:20 on 04/01/17, a bloke with an Indian/Pakistani accent rang, saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer had been compromised. He got more and more pushy when I said it sounded like a scam. He hung up when I told him I'd call back through the company’s official number to check. Looking back, there's no way Microsoft would have my number, but I didn’t realise that straight away!

I received a rather peculiar phone call today from a chap named John Matthews, claiming he was with Microsoft, though he had a strong Indian accent. He went on about how my computer was supposedly being targeted by hackers globally. When I pointed out that this sounded very much like a scam, he threatened to block my computer since I wasn’t taking him seriously. He ominously declared that I shouldn't say I hadn’t been forewarned before abruptly ending the call, leaving me rather bemused by the whole encounter!

Got a call from a lady called Margaret with an Indian accent at 7:52 this morning telling me my computer had a virus. I knew straight away it was a scam as I don’t use Microsoft at all. I asked her to give me their ISP number instead. Then they put me through to Michael, also with an Indian accent, who sarcastically said I was "very clever" and warned me he was gonna make me "proper angry" before just hanging up. I've reported the whole thing to the police. These phone companies really ought to block these muppets.

These daft lot ring me almost daily and no matter how many ways I try to tell them they’re wasting their time or to piss off, it just doesn’t work. So all I can do now is keep blocking their numbers, only for them to hire a new one from BT (cheers BT for looking after your UK customers properly!). They keep coming up with the same tired Microsoft scam every single time. The worst part is, if they ring 100 people, there’ll be a couple of muppets who fall for it and get totally ripped off!

So today, 30/11/16, I got a call from a woman using the number 01706218826, which seemed to be from outside the UK. She claimed to be from Microsoft. I told her straight up I knew it was a load of rubbish and told her where to go. She hung up, I believe. Just a reminder, swearing at these dodgy calls isn't illegal! Say what you want!

Got a call at 7.10 in the morning!!! Lucky I didn't get to the phone quick enough. I checked the number by dialling "1471" and this is what showed up. Proper companies with real reasons to call rarely ring that early, and if they do, you'd usually know the number straight away.

Got a call first thing at 7.45am. Didn’t check the caller ID, thought it could be something about family. Turned out to be a canned spiel about my computer running slowly. Quite worried they might have some of my info - how on earth do they get it? Obviously, I blocked the number straight away.

Received a rather curious phone call from this number earlier today, with the caller asserting that she was representing Microsoft. I was rather skeptical, so I asked her to provide her name along with a contact number for Microsoft that I could use to verify her claims. She introduced herself as Amar Anderson and shared the number 01183282275 as a point of contact for confirmation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Yesterday morning at precisely 09:28 a.m., I received what I can only describe as a dubious call from someone claiming to be Jason with Microsoft. He chirped, "Good morning, Madam, I'm reaching out regarding your computer today." I quickly retorted, "This is clearly a scam." To my amusement, he hung up immediately. It's infuriating how these sorts of calls can be such a bother, and they carry troubling implications for anyone who might fall for them. I can't help but wonder if they particularly prey on the elderly.

Got a call from someone named Jason claiming to be from Microsoft yesterday around 9:28 in the morning. He started with "Good morning Madam, I’m calling about your computer today." I just said straight away "This is a scam." He hung up right after. These calls are really annoying, and they could end badly for people who fall for them. I wonder if they’re mainly going after older folks?

I received an incessant barrage of calls today-thirteen in total! They were incredibly insistent, urging me to power up my computer so they could fix an issue they'd supposedly found that involved hacking into my system. Given that they had my address and other personal information, I felt quite unsettled and decided to reach out to the authorities for assistance. It's baffling to think why these individuals remain at large.

Got a call at 7.14 in the morning, which made me think someone might be unwell. I didn’t pick up though ‘cos this number has rung me loads before and I don’t know anyone with that prefix. Previously, someone from this number gave me hassle about issues with my internet, trying to ‘help’ with who my provider was and what problems I had. Got a bit rude when I told them they were wrong and eventually just hung up. This number calls me all the time - really wish they’d just stop!

Today at 3:45 PM, I received a call from the aforementioned number. My landline has BT's call screening feature, meaning that callers need to announce themselves before the line connects. It’s rather peculiar how these nuisance calls never seem to identify themselves and tend to just hang up. It’s quite irritating, especially since I receive such interruptions multiple times a day. I don’t always check the last number that called, but today I did, which led me to discover the number in question. After a rather unpleasant exchange with a scammer who told me to f*** off, I opted to invest in new telephones that include this screening service. They weren’t overly pricey and have proven to be an excellent investment.

Anita was the one ringing again - got two calls last Saturday, another two Monday, and one today. Same old tale about my Microsoft computer being involved in dodgy stuff, and if she could access it, she'd prove it. This con is getting a bit tired now - hung up as soon as I said I don't own any Microsoft devices. She said she was calling from Reading, by the way.

1pm on 16/11/2016, sounded like an Indian bloke from some 'Microsoft dept' still pestering! When I asked where he was calling from, he said Reading, then when asked which county, he said West Berkshire. Funny thing is, the landline code is actually for Rochdale. Same old story when I asked how he knew I wasn’t being scammed - he claimed my computer has a unique number only Microsoft and I would know. I've heard this before and it's rubbish. Just so you know, Microsoft won’t call you unless you’ve rung them first. Ended up blocking the number.
