got a call from a bloke with a male voice who said he was with a proper company and knew about scammers pretending to be them. he rambled on and never actually answered anything i asked, sounded like some dodgy character from a tv show, really not believable at all. told him to take me off their list and just ended the call. honestly, it had a really shady vibe!

I just had a chat on the phone that lasted about ten minutes. The bloke claimed to be from the Citizens Advice Centre based in Southend. He was keen to have a natter about timeshares in general, but particularly zeroed in on CLC. He asked if I was still part of their membership and mentioned that CLC apparently only operates two resorts over in Tenerife now. He went on about how a Spanish legal outfit, JCLA, has been victorious in every legal battle they've had against timeshare firms. Just your standard call, really.

(I definitely don't think I have a masculine voice, but there we go!) "No," I replied. "Is this Mrs ***?" I then inquired, "Who’s calling?" And just like that, they hung up! What a right palaver! I received a call on my mobile regarding Club La Costa timeshare and when I mentioned to the bloke that we’re having everything dealt with by the financial ombudsman, he just wouldn't let it go. Instead, he was adamant about claiming our solicitors were nothing but con artists. Quite pushy, if you ask me, especially after I’d said I wasn't particularly keen on what he was proposing. Now, my phone is being bombarded with calls every hour on the hour! I’ve had enough of this nonsense and will be blocking them forthwith!

Received a call on my landline today, 19th January 2021, at around 2:20 PM. We've got a message on our answering machine that makes it clear we're not interested in calls from scammers or timeshare hawkers. Typically, we let these calls ring through first; if they’re genuine, we pick up. Most of the time, these callers tend to disconnect without bothering to leave a message, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know. So, I'm going to go ahead and guess they were yet another nuisance, possibly a scam or some irritating telemarketing spiel.
