Today, I received a call from the number 01698749523, claiming that my computer required an update. I mentioned I didn't own a computer, but this individual, who sounded Asian, continued to chatter on without pause. Eventually, I decided enough was enough and ended the call.

yeah, similar to the previous calls ive had, this one person asked me if i was the computer owner and told me to turn it on, saying i could check the issue without needing the internet. They said they were with some company named tech help (never heard of them before). Then they went on and on about how microsoft supposedly no longer supports users, but honestly i couldn’t catch most of what she was saying because of her accent. I’m gonna report this number to action fraud, so hopefully they look into it.

Just had some dodgy calls from people wanting to take control of my Windows PC remotely. Classic scam attempt, be careful!

Got a call at about 1:22pm on the 25th of January 2017. The person on the other end had an Asian accent and claimed there was an issue with my computer. When I said I don’t even own a computer, they just hung up on me. Honestly, these scammers must not be too clever! But then again, if they manage to trick even one person, they’re making a tidy bit of cash. Total scam, stay well clear!

Got a call earlier from some con artist wanting to get into my PC, definitely think these scammers should be looked into properly.

This week I’ve been getting daily calls from 01698749523, always from the same person who speaks with a strong accent. They also ring me from 01952879657 sometimes. They claim to be from BT and say there’s an issue with the Microsoft Windows computer in my house, which is odd because we only use Macs. I told them to quit calling, to take my number off their list, and even warned I’d report them to the police, but they just keep ringing anyway.

If possible, just go ahead and block that number.

Got a call around 10:30 this morning, some person wanting to talk to whoever owns the computer at my place. I ended the call straight away since I’d seen warnings about this scam on a local Facebook group.

Today I got a ring from this number, asking if I owned a computer at home. I told them my partner was away for work to dodge it. This scam's been doing the rounds for yonks now. They try to get you to turn your computer on ’cause it supposedly needs cleaning from viruses. Sounds more like they're just trying to hack into your system. Honestly, best thing is to hang up straight away or block their number.

They rang me around half past ten this morning saying they could help with a computer virus and wanted me to open my emails. But as soon as I said I don't own a PC, they just ended the call straight away.

They rang me this afternoon saying there was a virus on my computer and offered to help sort it out. When I questioned how they knew my computer was affected, they told me to turn it on so they could guide me through fixing it. I wasn't having any of it and asked if this was a cold call, which they denied. Then when I asked where they had my number and who they thought I was, they gave me an incorrect name and address. I told them to get off the phone as it was either a sales call or a scam. They hung up really quickly.

Got a call at half past 11 and nothing on the line for a whole minute before they just cut off after I told them to get lost, you fraudsters. Been getting these annoying calls for a few weeks, all with STD codes from tiny wee villages up in Scotland, but trust me, they definitely weren’t Scottish at all. How do they even pull that off?

They called, saying there was something wrong with my computer and offered to fix it - pretty sure it was a scam trying to trick me.

Complete rip-off, it’s that classic “your PC might have a virus” trick. Seriously, don’t get caught up in it!!
