Got a call from some bloke about house insulation. Told him I don’t live there anymore but neither of us brought up the address. Then he snapped at me, asking what address I meant. So I flipped it back and asked him what address he was ringin’ about. He didn’t take it well, got all annoyed and said ‘listen to that voice’. I just cut him off and hung up!

I never bother answering unknown numbers, 99% of the time it’s just some annoying telemarketer. I just let it ring out, then I check the number later. So far, it’s been spot on every time. Last time I did pick up, sounded like some kid trying to scam me, probably a schoolboy clueless about real life. He pretended to be from BT, telling me there was an issue with my internet and asked if he could take over my computer to fix it. I told him I’m not with BT, so it’s not their problem. As I hung up, I swear I heard him mumble something like, “Amateur.”

On 7th May 2021, I picked up a call from 01236 723202. A woman spoke and mentioned someone else would get in touch with more details. They already had all our info - name, address, phone number, and even knew we had insulation. Before that, on 5th May, they called twice but I didn’t answer. Another unknown number rang me later and a man claimed to be from Energy Scotland. He said the insulation in our home was deteriorating and causing all sorts of issues like damp, health risks, and even attracting mice. He was quite insistent and wanted to come over that same day, but I told him no and ended the call. It definitely seemed fishy to me, like some sort of scam.
