Its mad how these con artists manage to use numbers with local area codes, I rang up BT and as usual they couldnt really be bothered. How are they allowed to use local landline codes when its clear they arent local at all? The only clue is the number after the area code isnt from a legit series. Where I live all numbers start with a 5, but this one had a 4. They really need to get the government to do something about these scam calls!

01355701602. Deep voice bloke with a Sheffield dialect. He says hes got a 'case file'. Like seriously, some muppet in a call centre handed him a case file. Haha, what a joke.

Mine was pretty much the same as what others have said here. Got a call on my mobile today from a Stirling number 01786 607818 (I’m local to Stirling). A woman called, sounded like she was from Manchester, said she was with some Underwriters company. She mentioned a car accident I had in Stirling back in April! When I asked more, she said she’d been contacted by the other party’s insurers and was talking about a settlement offer. Told her I wasn’t interested in dealing with their firm and she didn’t push it, ended the call quite quick.

I’ve gotten loads of calls from Your Vehicle Consultants on 01563 485745, which looks like a local number but they’re definitely not based around here. If I manage to track down their address, I’m thinking of sending them a bill for all the time they’ve wasted!

Your car adviser called me - proper pushy woman with a British accent. How do these lot even manage to keep doing this? Absolute scumbags. She tried to force me into paying £1500 for a crash I never had. Asked where they got my info from and she said the national accident database, but that's total nonsense! My biggest worry is if some old dear falls for this and thinks it's legit. Honestly, someone needs to crack down on these annoying calls! Complete scam, honestly!

Got a call from a 01344 number and when I asked what accident they were talking about, I joked saying I've been in a few (when I actually haven't had any). He then said it was the most recent one. I replied, "I had two on the same day?" He said, "The last one," so I just laughed and politely told him to stop calling because I haven’t been in any crash. Then he claimed he got my details from the NATIONAL ACCIDENT DATABASE!!! I asked if I could check it myself since I was at my laptop, so he shouted some weird address and hung up. Lol, I have way too much fun messing with these callers now!

Just got a call from this lot called Your Vehicle Consultants, ringing from a 01294 number which is right in my local area. When I told them I hadn’t been involved in any crash or even a small ding like she claimed, and asked them to take my number off their list, she got all huffy and said “yeah sure but what about a settlement”. When I repeated that I wanted my number removed, she lost it and said “f### off, totally awful”, and to make matters worse, I can’t even ring to make a complaint. Proper bad service.

got a call from this number saying they were from rocket insurance services. the call came through as motherwell, but i reckon the bloke was actually from liverpool. he told me i'd had an accident in motherwell and asked if i'd got any sort of payout. when i asked where he got his info from, he said it was from my insurance company. he already knew my full name and address. i asked to see the data they had on me, but he told me to speak to my insurers about it. then he said i was being difficult and threatened to make sure i got bombarded with calls.

Got a call from someone saying I had a claim for a crash I was supposedly involved in. They got the car make and model totally wrong though. The bloke kept going in circles, saying he was just doing his job and kept asking about the accident, which I never actually confirmed or denied. Sounds like a shady attempt to squeeze a third party insurance claim out of me. Proper chancers!

I received a call from a number that seemed familiar, so I picked it up, only to be greeted by a chap who started talking about finalising some compensation linked to a traffic accident. I promptly informed him that I’ve never even held a driving licence, let alone been behind the wheel. He insisted that I must have been a passenger in a vehicle involved in an incident over the past three years. I reiterated that as far as I’m concerned, I’ve never been in a car accident in my life. Eventually, I grew exasperated and hung up, then proceeded to block the number.
