Got a call from 01695768182, and it was Clear Compare pushing Life Assurance and Critical Illness cover. They don't seem to care about the TPS rules at all. If your number’s on the TPS or CTPS lists, companies aren’t allowed to ring you, as per the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. In the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office keeps an eye on this and can slap hefty fines on companies that ignore the law. These firms need to check the TPS/CTPS lists at least every 28 days. Just check the bad reviews on Trustpilot for yourself.
