Has anyone got a clue about this company? As a single mum reliant on benefits, I mentioned that life insurance was beyond my means (I always try to be polite; after all, they’re just fulfilling their duties), but the person on the other end had the gall to say, “How can you not prioritise your son’s needs over your own? What sort of mother acts like that?” I was completely appalled!

Got a call, they asked for me using my old surname. I told them, no, that's not me. Then they asked if I had life insurance. I kept saying I wasn’t the person they wanted. They kept pushing until I told them my life insurance details weren’t their concern. The bloke was pretty polite though, even wished me luck and happiness at the end - couldn’t help but laugh!

The bloke spoke with a thick accent, mentioned something about Sun Life insurance and then my life insurance. They claimed to be from the Insurance Review Centre and insisted you can’t find them anywhere online. That really made me suspicious. Plus, the use of the word “review” raised alarm bells. A while back, my bank warned me about pension “review” firms - they said it’s risky to share any details with them and it’s probably a scam. It was definitely a cold call since they didn’t even know my married name.

Someone rang me saying they were from a life insurance review connected to companies like Sun Life, AIG, Aegon and a few others I can’t recall - none that I've got policies with. They said because of the COVID situation, they were doing medical checks and wanted me to confirm some info. I asked them for the policy number related to the review, but they just dodged it and claimed they’d get back to me with it later. As soon as they ended the call, I blocked the number.

Just got a call from someone about a life insurance review, saying I might qualify for one. I don't even have life insurance! When I mentioned that, he quickly switched to say it might be about a mortgage. Stupid me, I said yes, I have a mortgage. Then I told him I was busy working and couldn’t chat. He asked when would be a better time. I said I work from 8am to 4pm and might answer after that. He asked again when he could call. I repeated that he should ring after work hours and then he just hung up on me.
