Got a call from a number I didn’t know while I was driving and couldn’t answer. They didn’t bother leaving any message either, so I looked it up here. Decided to block the number after that.

Got a call from a polite guy speaking with an Asian accent who told me I was involved in a small accident as a passenger and should file for compensation. I wasn’t involved, so I just ended the call.

This definitely was a scam. The caller spoke really slowly and sounded like they were just reading off a script. They kept going on about my life insurance - which I don’t even have! Got a call on my work phone back in 2019, didn’t even say a word when I answered, just listened. In the background, I could tell it was some call centre buzzing on the line. The bloke on the other end, sounded Australian, called me by my name but totally butchered it, which was strange cos my name's pretty simple and you'd reckon an Aussie would say it right. I stayed on the line for a bit, then they just dropped the call.
