I got a call just before midday today from a local number I didn’t know, so I let it go to voicemail. At the end of a recorded message, they mentioned some suspicious charges on my bank card - over £300 on Amazon and more than £1,000 with Western Union. They wanted me to press 1 to speak to an advisor right away. Of course, I didn’t bother. Since I don’t use those services, it was clearly another con. When I tried calling the number back to verify, it wasn’t a recognised number at all. Typical scam stuff!
