Got a call on my mobile, said hello a couple of times but the person just hung up. Definitely not from Orpington - seems like one of those mass batches of numbers bought up. Some folks mention a foreign sounding voice, sometimes asking for mum or talking about government energy surveys or insulation stuff. I've blocked the number now but I’m sure they'll ring back from somewhere else. Weirdly, I mostly get these calls right after I update or download a new iOS version on my iPhone. Strange timing!

I got a call from this number about my EE contract. When I told the guy we don’t even have EE and it sounded like a scam, he insisted it wasn’t and said he was just doing his job and has a family to feed or something. Then I mentioned I’d call the police - next thing I know, he just hung up. The number was 01689 458017. Proper dodgy!
