An 85 year old relative got a text saying £600 was going to be taken from her bank account but it didn’t say which bank, just told her to call a number. Luckily she called her daughter (me) straight away to check what was going on. I really worry about older folks who don’t have family around to help them spot these scams.

I tried calling 01682105314 but it didn’t go through, said the number wasn’t valid. It doesn’t seem to be a proper UK number either, so I’m guessing it’s probably some kind of scam.

Got a call from 01682 291379 with an automated voice saying there's an arrest warrant in my name. It asked me to press 1 to talk to a warrant officer and even gave a reference number. Really suspicious! I wasn’t in at the time, but makes me wonder what they’d have accused me of if I’d answered. Proper dodgy, that one.

Got a call off a bloke who said he was William from UK benefits. Spoke pretty well, with just a tiny accent. I’m not claiming any benefits or anything, so I just didn’t bother and ended the call. Never really trust these cold calls anyway.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent asking to speak to me. When I wanted to know where he got my number from, he just ended the call. Really odd!

Got a missed call from 01682 042536 on 30/05/2017 at around 3.37pm. I checked online but couldn’t find it listed as a recognised UK number, so I decided not to ring back since it felt suspicious. If it was something legit, surely there’d be a voicemail left. Thanks for this site, I know to just ignore it now. :) Also, since that day, I’ve had similar missed calls from various places across the UK like 01244 256494, 01268 270159, 01264 901824, 01253 815791, 01291 462057, and 01294 372485 - all seem dodgy to me.

over the last few days, ive had this number ring me like 6 times. the bloke on the line had an indian accent and said he was from talktalk, telling me my internet wasnt safe. i got a bit annoyed and told him off before ending the call. then about 20 mins later, a woman phoned from that same number, saying the exact same stuff. i thought it was fishy so rang talktalk directly, and they said it was definitely a scam. ive reported the number to them now.

Every time I let the call go to answer machine from this number 01682045280, it just ends with someone saying "goodbye." Same thing happens if I just block the number. Quite confusing!

01682 042536 - I’ve already reported this number to Talktalk. I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying my router was hacked, and she told me to turn it on again along with my computer so they could sort it out. She also mentioned sending a new router. If you see calls like this, give Talktalk a shout and they can block them for you. Alternatively, you could mess with them by saying you’ll switch on your PC in a moment, then just keep them hanging until they give up.

Had a call from a number pretending to be TalkTalk (this is like the 5th time in a day and a half), but as soon as I picked up, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone who gave the name Peter Morrison but I swear he couldn’t pronounce his own surname right. He had an Indian accent and claimed to be from BT Openreach, saying he was calling from London. When I told him I wasn’t intrested, he threatened to cut off my phone line. I just ended the call then and there.

Had a few calls claiming to be from TalkTalk saying there’s an issue with my wifi. They keep ringing from loads of different numbers but all sound like frauds to me. Another one of those fake TalkTalk scammers for sure.

got a call claiming to be talktalk warnin me my line was hacked and would be disconnected in a day. i asked them for my external ip address, which seemed to throw them off. next thing i knew, they just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from TalkTalk. He told me there was some problem with my internet or wifi on my computer and asked me to log in so he could fix it. I told him it sounded fishy and said I’d be getting the police involved. He got pretty annoyed and just hung up. I ended up contacting the PSNI, and they said they’d had complaints like this from others too. Be careful out there!
