They rang to say there was a grant for a new boiler. I told them I’m hard of hearing and asked if they could speak louder. After a while, I reckon he got annoyed and just hung up.

This morning I got a call from a man named John who wanted to speak to my husband by his name. When I asked if it was a sales call, he admitted he was. I told him I’m with TFS, and then he jokingly said he was offering nuclear weapons. He spoke with a US accent, which was a bit odd.

Just like loads of others have said, I got the same thing. The call comes through, I don't pick up for about five seconds, and then they hang up. I went ahead and blocked the number on my t#### phone.

Received a call today that I opted not to pick up. It went straight to my voicemail, but the caller didn’t leave any details. Since I’m listed as ex-directory, I tend to avoid answering calls from numbers that aren’t familiar to me.

I received a call from someone wanting to chat with the owner of my property. When I pressed them to provide the owner’s name, they claimed they couldn’t due to data protection laws. I made it clear that I wasn't interested in engaging with them unless they could share that information. I also pointed out that my number is ex-directory (which it genuinely is) and that it’s registered with the Telephone Preference Service. They seemed baffled when I mentioned the TPS, and after I warned them they might hear from the authorities, they promptly hung up. Quite the dodgy behaviour, if you ask me!

Got a call from a UK number but it was clear the guy was calling from abroad using some VOIP service. He kept insisting his call was legit but refused to say which company he was from. I ended up hanging up first because he wouldn’t. Even though I’m on the TPS list, it didn’t stop them calling. Really worrying for folks who might not be as cautious and could get fooled. I’ve reported it to the TPS as well.

My phone buzzed, I picked up but nothing, just silence. Then after a few seconds all I heard was the hang-up beep.

Got a bloke on the phone bothering my missus about some Government Boiler Grants. Told him straight up he was talking rubbish and hung up. Wouldn’t tell us which company he was from either. Since then, loads of similar calls from other firms trying the same scam. Proper annoying!

I’ve been getting calls from this number and a few others like it. The callers aren't speaking English. They usually begin by inquiring if they can talk to the homeowner, and then proceed to inform you that your residence has been chosen for a government grant for a new boiler system. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

This number showed up as from "Bala" but it’s totally bogus. Some bloke rang me from a call centre using a VOIP line. The guy, who sounded Asian, was pretty nasty on the phone. I threw a bit of rude Arabic his way and he immediately got off the line. Then, he rang again shortly after but I just let it ring out. I used my t#### blocker to delete the number - good riddance until he decides to switch to another fake one!
