Just like some of the others mentioned, it was one of those call centre scams from India. The bloke asked for me by name, so I replied with "Who is this?" instead. He started his usual script but I cut him off straight away saying I never confirmed I was (my name), only asked who was calling. As soon as I said that, he dropped the call. That alone was a dead giveaway for me that it’s a scam. Blocked the number already, but I expect more will pop up soon.

The call showed up as Bedale on my screen, but it was definitely a call centre with someone speaking with an Indian accent. They started off by asking whether I used an iPhone or a Samsung. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a ring from 01677 290082, sounds like a typical telemarketing number trying to push some business service. I calmly told them we had no interest and requested they take our number off their list and stop calling. Instead of being civil, the caller suddenly got nasty and told me to "just go die." I was so shocked I told a workmate about it, and then the caller repeated the same awful phrase and told me to "shut up" before hanging up. If this was meant to be a proper business call, that attitude was way out of line and very unprofessional.
