9 monthsSomeone rang me up trying to sell a panic button. I told them straight away I don’t deal with cold calls and asked them to send me info in writing instead. Then they wanted my email, but I said no way. I also said I found it really wrong to cold call older folks with that kind of sales pitch. After that, they just ended the call.9 monthsSome bloke called me saying I qualified for a home care alarm. I instantly suspected it was a dodgy call. Someone calling pretending to work for some kind of helpline, asking for a one-time payment to continue the service. We didn’t fall for it. Double-checked with our finance folks and the actual service provider using the number shown on our original direct debit paperwork (the hard copy). Our finance team said they had no connection with that number. So, we blocked it on our phone. But guess what? After a couple hours, the same bloke called again, this time from another number! Told him straight to jog on.10 monthsGot a call saying I was eligible for some emergency assistance, but hung up right away, seemed dodgy to me.1 yearGot a call from this number earlier but no voicemail was left. When I asked where he got my number from, all he said was that they’re contacting everyone over 50. Then he tried to find out how many meds I’m on.
