They rang me just before 9 in the morning. The person on the line spoke very clearly, no accent, and said it was about the warranty for my washing machine. I'd been tricked once before when they asked for a code from my credit card (not the main card number). The bank told me they couldn’t withdraw money from my account just using that code. Later, I got a letter from HomeProtect Direct saying they’d been taking money from my account each month via direct debit. I managed to cancel everything in the end but it caused loads of stress and I felt really daft for falling for it.

I had a quick chat with someone who rang me, but they got my name mixed up-calling me Mr Andrew instead of my last name. I pointed it out, saying I'm not Mr Andrew, and then they abruptly ended the call. I'm beginning to suspect it's a dodgy scheme; I'd advise caution!

I've heard from various folks that this could be a con related to washing machine insurance. I let my voicemail pick up, but they didn’t bother to leave any message. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a robocall about someone supposedly trying to use my debit card for a £600 purchase overseas. They never mentioned which bank it was from. Just hung up straight away.
