Got a call from some bunch saying they’re from Eon, wanting to pay me £60 to join a chat group at the Hilton next week. Eon don’t usually cold call, right? So how did they get my mobile and surname, even though I’m on the TPS? I only answered 'cause I was waiting for a call like that number, but now I’m proper annoyed. Makes you wonder how good the TPS really is (seems to stop legit calls only), and where the cash is for dealing with scams before or after they happen.

Lovely woman, shame she’s working for a bunch of clowns. She said she was calling on behalf of Eon and that if I turned up at some local place for an interview, I’d get £50. Sounds too good to be true! The problem is, they have your info already - she even knew my name. I told her no thanks and ended the call. I hardly get any calls these days, but when I do, it’s usually some sort of nonsense from dodgy people. You block one, and another shows up. Best thing is to just politely send them packing.

I ignored this call today, just let it ring a couple of times, usually that means it’s a dodgy number. If they say they’re calling about Yorkshire Water, just tell them you’re more interested in Yorkshire Tea! And if you’re getting calls from 'DWP' about things like explosives or chemicals, you should definitely report it to the police. The real DWP is the Department for Work and Pensions, so why would they be asking about that stuff? Scammers can seriously harm vulnerable folks, it’s really not right. This kind of thing should be illegal.

This caller alleged they were carrying out a survey for Yorkshire Water. However, when I probed about their credentials for customer research, they couldn't provide any proper verification and offered some rather nonsensical replies. To top it all off, they even mixed up personal information related to my account.

I had a rather odd experience with a caller from E.ON today, who dialled 02038675287 to ask for the monthly electricity meter reading for my business. I turned down the request as it just didn’t feel right. Strangely enough, this was the first month where I did not receive an email reminder from E.ON to submit the figures. Upon looking into it, their records confirmed that no reminder had been sent - quite baffling! Their email reminder system for our account appeared to be fully operational. Just to clarify, E.ON does not request meter readings over the phone. Curiously, I received this call right around the time I’d typically send in my readings. Just a coincidence? I doubt it very much! Fast forward to today, 19 December 2017, and I got another call from E.ON, this time from 01663761699. They wanted to chat with me, but my wife informed them I was out. The caller said they’d call back, and honestly, I’m rather eager to hear what they have to say!

This time they said they were working for Yorkshire Water, but from what I’ve seen in the replies, they’ve also called for companies like Eon. Doesn’t seem like a scam or anything dodgy, but if you’re not interested, just hang up on them.

Got loads of calls from this number, JUST AVOID IT, ANOTHER SCAM!

Claimed to be ringing from EON, but the blokes voice sounded as if he was trapped in a tin can! He didn’t provide any particulars apart from saying he'd dialled the wrong number. Very peculiar indeed!

I asked them if they wanted my credit card details and PIN, and they actually said yes! Then he asked if he could have them straight away because his family in INDIA was supposedly waiting for my money for a flight to HEATHROW today. I don't think so, sounds like a total scam to me. There aren't even any flights from INDIA today, haha, fooled me not!

This number has been ringing me non-stop, no voicemail or anything - 5 times today and 6 times yesterday. Thought TPS was meant to stop this! Blocked it now with call guardian.

got a call from this number earlier, seen a couple of missed calls from it before tho. they said they were from the met office doing a survey on how the weather’s been recently. i told them i wasn’t sure cause I’d been away abroad.

They are some sort of market research firm - if you tell them, they’ll take your number off their list. I applied for a mystery shopper role with Aldi and then got a few calls, three of which came from this number. It all stopped once I asked them to take me off their database.

They keep ringing but never say anything. When I try to return the call, it just won’t go through. Seems suspicious to me - definitely blocking them!

I got a call from a really quiet bloke who wanted to know if I’d been told about weather alerts near me. He then asked if I could spare a few minutes for a quick survey, like 3 or 4 mins. He also checked if I was based in York, Hull, or Lincoln, and asked which age bracket I belonged to. Suddenly he said his computer wasn’t working or something and just ended the call.

This number 01663761699 keeps ringing me but never leaves any voicemail. I tried calling it back but all I get is silence, no dial tone or anything. So annoying!

A bloke with a gentle voice phoned me, and when I inquired who was asking for ######, he just carried on repeating "Can I speak to ######?" before abruptly hanging up!

I've received a couple of calls from this number-rather frustratingly right in the middle of my breakfast! They claim to be from some survey company, but we’re on the ex-directory list! Had to block their number.

Today I got a call claiming to be from the DWP but saying it was for the Home Office's counter terrorism team. They were asking if we stocked any explosives in our store. I went through the list they gave me. Seemed fairly legit, but they didn’t ask about the business proper, so I didn’t have to reveal much.

I got a call from a lady claiming to be from GF Research who said she was calling for the Home Office. She wanted to ask me some questions about chemicals, which sounded quite odd to me.

Got a call on my landline from a number I didn’t know, so I just let it ring out. The answerphone picked up but no message was left, so I’m not fussed. Seems like it might be one of those legit marketing companies, but since I’m signed up with the TPS and never accept marketing calls, they can forget it. No clue how they even got my info in the first place!
