Got a call from an Asian guy who said his name was Edward, claiming someone was stealing my ID and told me to log into my computer. I just told him he was a total small-time crook and that it was clear he was up to no good. Told him to get lost and multiply instead. Dunno if it’ll stop these scams, but it made me feel a bit better having said it!

Somebody just rang me saying they were from Microsoft, said my Mac’s been hacked or summat. I told them my software doesn't work with their system anyway. Then I asked for their Microsoft alphanumeric authority codes and, weirdly, they just hung up on me. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call like this too once. I told the person on the line that Microsoft doesn't call customers out of the blue, then just ended the call. My other half almost fell for it last year and was ready to install some dodgy software that would've let them control her PC.
