I missed the call while I was out and found no message on my answering machine. I've got elderly folks, one in a care home and the other about to go in for surgery. Really don’t want these annoying calls. Why dont they get that "no" or "I’m not interested" actually means no?

Got a quick ring but they hung up before I could answer. They rang back about five mins later. Some firm called ACT Home Security, saying they’re contacting the whole street to set up a demo of their gear or whatever. After her sales pitch, I asked how she got my number since I’m ex-directory, and she just said it’s on their database. Told her to take me off it straight away.

Got a call today from Anita claiming to be from ATC security. Like many others, it’s really annoying since I’m already on the TPS list. Fingers crossed the updated GDPR rules will help cut down on these pesky calls.

ACT kept ringing about security stuff. Luckily, we’ve got the local watch and some community Facebook pages. It actually works - just last week, a thief got nabbed thanks to neighbours. They had it on film, identified the bloke and the cops sorted it out.

Got a call from Michael at ACT home security, he knew my name and said he was working nearby. I cut him off and asked why he was ringing when I’m on the TPS list. He just brushed it off, said sometimes numbers sneak into their system but he’d take me off. Honestly feels like they couldn’t care less about TPS rules.

Clearly, these chaps are dodgy - possibly a bit dim-witted, too. They claim to represent ACT, a firm in the security industry. If they truly were experts in that field, they wouldn't resort to such questionable tactics for promoting their products. I'd steer well clear of them or insist they provide information through the post. It's never wise to chat about security matters with strangers over the phone. Honestly, they’re either totally unscrupulous or just plain thick, or maybe even a mix of both!

An elderly woman, 95 years old, has been getting constant calls and even people knocking on her door non-stop. This has gone on for far too long and I’m really not having it. If they don’t stop bothering her multiple times every day, I’m going to have to report it to the police. It’s just wrong and causing her a lot of stress.

Got a ring from ACT Security about joining a neighbourhood watch scheme and info about their alarm response service. Turns out the local cops deal with genuine alarms, so ACT don’t cover my area at all. Pretty much a cold call, and I’m already signed up with TPS. The woman on the phone wasn’t annoying or anything, even said sorry when I told her I wasn’t keen.

Back again after nearly a year, it's those people from "Locked up Monitored Home Security" ringing me once more, this time from Middlesbrough. Since August 2013, I've had about 8 calls from them, the first 5 came from another number (01642231331), including one where they didn't even leave a message. I've told them at least 5 times to stop calling me - I'm on the TPS, so they really shouldn't be able to. They keep assuring me they won’t ring back, but clearly they ignore the rules and don’t bother with TPS regulations. This will be the fifth time I’m reporting them to TPS and ICO for harassment.

Locked up Home Security have been ringing me 4 times since October 2014, though they used another number before 01642231331, even left one call unfinished. I've told them at least 3 times to stop calling, and I'm on the TPS list too. They keep saying they won’t bother again, but clearly they ignore that.
