I received a call while I was away. There were no messages left on my answering machine. It is quite bothersome because I have elderly parents; one is residing in a care facility while the other is awaiting an operation. I truly do not appreciate these unsolicited calls. I fail to understand why expressing a polite "no" or stating "not interested" holds no weight with them.

Got a quick ring but they hung up before I could answer. They rang back about five mins later. Some firm called ACT Home Security, saying they’re contacting the whole street to set up a demo of their gear or whatever. After her sales pitch, I asked how she got my number since I’m ex-directory, and she just said it’s on their database. Told her to take me off it straight away.

They promptly addressed me by name, but I immediately informed them that cold calling is unacceptable and reminded them that I am registered on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) list. Surprisingly, the call abruptly ended.

Got a call from Michael at ACT home security, he knew my name and said he was working nearby. I cut him off and asked why he was ringing when I’m on the TPS list. He just brushed it off, said sometimes numbers sneak into their system but he’d take me off. Honestly feels like they couldn’t care less about TPS rules.

Clearly, these chaps are dodgy - possibly a bit dim-witted, too. They claim to represent ACT, a firm in the security industry. If they truly were experts in that field, they wouldn't resort to such questionable tactics for promoting their products. I'd steer well clear of them or insist they provide information through the post. It's never wise to chat about security matters with strangers over the phone. Honestly, they’re either totally unscrupulous or just plain thick, or maybe even a mix of both!

An elderly woman's house is constantly being called and people keep knocking on her door without end. This relentless behavior has become unbearable. The lady is 95 years old, and I absolutely refuse to accept such conduct. If this continues, I will not hesitate to get in touch with the police. It is evident that these individuals are harassing her, as they persistently bother her multiple times during the day. This situation is deeply distressing for her.

Turns out the local cops deal with genuine alarms, so ACT don’t cover my area at all. Pretty much a cold call, and I’m already signed up with TPS. Once again, I find myself dealing with the nuisance of "Locked up Monitored Home Security" from Middlesbrough. This is now the eighth phone call I have received from them since August 2013. It's worth noting that the first five calls came from a different number: 01642231331. One of those calls was even abandoned mid-way. Despite my repeated requests, a total of five times now, asking them not to call me (I am registered with TPS), they continue to disregard my wishes. It's clear that they have no regard for their responsibilities as DMA members and the regulations outlined by the TPS code. This time, I will not hesitate to report them to both TPS and ICO.

Despite informing them three times not to contact me anymore (I am registered on the TPS), they continue to disregard my request. They have made promises on each occasion not to call again, but it is evident that they do not take it seriously. As this will be the third occurrence, I will now report this matter to both the TPS and ICO.
