So, this bloke rings me up saying he's from a marketing firm. I told him we’re ex-directory and on the TPS, so he really shouldn’t be ringing us. Somehow, he had the nerve to say it’s not against the law if you read the T&Cs. I just hung up on him. No idea how to report this, but honestly, that company should be reported for breaking GDPR rules. I haven't shared my info with anyone and made it clear we are ex-directory and signed up with TPS.

They clearly weren’t willing to identify themselves so we could decide whether to answer, and no voicemail was left either, which always makes us wary. Tried ringing me yesterday arvo but my BT Call Blocker stopped it cos the number isn’t saved in my contacts. They didn’t state who they were, so I couldn’t decide whether to answer or not, and no voicemail was left, which always raises a red flag for me. Some girl called Imogen rang me up claiming she was from the council doing a survey about smoking and wanted to know if I had a quick five minutes. I told her I was tied up and hung up straight away.

24/02/23 01642 680947 Ringed me saying they were doing a survey for Milton Keynes Council about my shopping habits, said it would only take about 5 minutes. First question was which supermarket i went to last time i shopped. I answered Tesco, Aldi & Lidl. She then asked which one? I told her i went to all three. She said i could only pick one. As an engineer, i thought she was distorting the answers so right away i just hung up.

Got a call from 01642 680947 on my unlisted home phone. The guy said he was carrying out some kind of survey about smoking for the council. Told him I was busy and just hung up straight away.

I've received a couple of calls from this number, and each time it's an automated message informing me that no one is available to answer. It asks me to leave my name and number. I suspect this is a system that dials out automatically, with no person on the other end to respond.

Definitely felt like a scam, but at least not from abroad this time. The call came from a Middlesbrough number, judging by the area code. Some bloke called Jordan claimed he was with Torbay Council and asked me about a shopping and leisure survey. His accent was clearly Middlesbrough though, so I ended up blocking him cos it just felt dodgy.

I received a rather peculiar call regarding services in Runnymede, and it was quite late at night as well. It makes me wonder whether these survey questions could potentially uncover information that could be exploited by scammers. They provided a contact number, 01932 425273, for me to verify their legitimacy, but I haven’t bothered to look into it yet. Honestly, it seems like it might just be a fruitless endeavour regardless.
