Just a heads up, once I blocked the number 01642 699411, I started getting calls from a different local number, 01642 625019, but it was the same bogus message on the other end. So watch out for that.

I've been getting calls from this number where some robot voice pretends to be from my bank, warning about dodgy card activity - usually something like an Amazon purchase or a transfer abroad. It tries to get you to press buttons on your phone. Honestly, don’t press anything, it’s a con. Best thing to do is just end the call and, if you can, block the number so it doesn’t ring again.

Before this number tried ringing me, I got a call from O2 but using a different line. I had to wait like 10 seconds before anyone got back to me, which I guess is normal for call centres when they're making loads of calls at once.
