I informed him quite firmly that I wasn’t comfortable discussing this over the phone and intended to inform the authorities instead. He seemed quite persistent in trying to keep the line open, so I decided to hang up. Shortly after, he called again and left a rather alarming message on my answering machine urging me to get in touch within three hours. He mentioned my name, my address, and even my phone number, which was a tad unsettling. To top it all off, he addressed me using the name of my property.
