I got a call from someone claiming to be with Evergreen, asking if I owned my place and wanted to book an energy inspection. He then went on about how I was supposedly using loads of energy, so I asked how he knew that. The bloke started firing off loads of questions and never really answered any of mine. Got fed up and hung up. They've gone straight on my blocked numbers now!

Got a call just after 9.30 on a weekday morning, right in the middle of the pandemic. A bloke with a southern UK accent claimed to be from an energy company and asked if I was the person who lives there, using my name. I told him I was, but that everything was fine with my energy provider at the moment. He said sorry for bothering me and then hung up.

Around 10 this morning, I got a call from this number. The caller sounded like they were from down south and started asking stuff about loft insulation and how we could cut down on bills. Sounds just like the energy scam folks have been warning about.

More often than not, the call disconnects almost instantly, ringing just long enough to pique my curiosity before vanishing. It feels as though they’re attempting to bait me into returning the call, but that’s not going to happen. I have a strong hunch that it’s some sort of dodgy scam trying to reel me in.

A voice came through asking if I was the homeowner. I said I wasn’t certain, then before I could say anything else, they just hung up on me.

Somebody rang up asking if I owned my house and said they had questions about rising energy use where I live for the council. When I asked which postcode they meant, the call just got cut off. Bit odd if you ask me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from an energy firm enquiring about the high usage in my postcode. I asked for the website he was with, something like letswrekinenergy or similar. When I said could he spell it, he just ended the call. Suspicious, if you ask me.

I’m pretty sure it was a dodgy call. The person claimed they were calling about my area due to high usage of gas and electricity, but then bizarrely asked if I had mains gas! Utter naff. I tried to get the name of my energy supplier from them, but they just told me to inquire through some third party. Got fed up and told them to jog on.
