Got a call from AO trying to push me to buy insurance for my vacuum cleaner. They kept asking odd questions like why I decided to get a new one in the first place. Then they said if my gadget breaks, I wouldn't be able to claim a replacement on my own insurance. It felt really pushy and not comfortable at all.

I've grown rather weary of these incessant calls I keep missing.

Since it was a sizable item, I didn’t object, but I can see how some folks might find their relentless calls a bit bothersome, especially if they aren't interested in shelling out for the insurance!

I placed an order online with AO.com, and to my surprise, they gave me a ring just an hour later! The call was brief; they only wanted to check if there was access for delivery and to gather some details about my old appliance for disposal. Quite efficient, I must say!

Received a call but missed it-probably too busy rustling up something in the kitchen. To be honest, I wouldn't have picked up regardless. I'm not one for engaging with numbers I don't recognise or calls that seem a bit dodgy.

It's AO on the line! They ring you up post-purchase under the guise of discussing your delivery schedule, but really, they're keen to peddle insurance. Quite the cheeky tactic, if you ask me!

I've received a call from them five times since I made my recent purchase on ao.com just a few days back! I gave them a ring back today, and they claimed it was to "confirm your delivery." However, it's clear this is just a ploy to hook you into a marketing pitch. No need to fret if you choose not to answer, your delivery will proceed as planned. They were trying to sell me some insurance policy called 'a okay' for a fiver ninety-nine a month. When I politely declined, the chap on the line turned rather insistent, bordering on rude, but isn't that just typical for salespeople? Having worked as an insurance broker myself, I recognise their tactics all too well, bless him for trying! I'll definitely keep ordering from ao but will be ignoring those pesky follow-up marketing calls. They claim that 'a okay' could save you £200 in comparison to your contents insurance, yet I can assure you that the odds of making a claim are extremely slim. By the time you might ever consider filing a claim, you would have shelled out as much as your contents insurance excess or more! So essentially, you're paying a premium for contents insurance (which serves the same purpose) and then an extra £5.99 on top for something you may never even use. If you’re getting a gadget and fancy some insurance, it's far wiser to check if your bank offers it as an additional option with your joint accounts or existing policies. This comes from someone who used to be an insurance broker and is now working as a financial adviser.

They called to check on my delivery and try to pitch some insurance as well. Honestly, they were quite helpful and didn’t hassle me too much. But if they keep ringing nonstop, I’ll have no choice but to block the number.
