Got a recorded call telling me my internet provider was changing and asking me to get in touch. Total rubbish - my isp is already sorting it out and tracking down these lot, who keep ringin' from like six different numbers. They told me to block them, so I've done that and will block any other numbers they use too.

When I told the lady on the phone she was fine with me not getting one fitted. Like someone else mentioned, ill hold off till they bring out the next version of smart meters before I agree to get one put in.

Got a call from first utility/siemens about installing a smart meter. From what I know, the smart meters being installed by different suppliers can't be read by anyone other than the original provider who put them in. So if you switch supplier, they’d probably need to replace the meter. Maybe this is why some folks prefer sticking with their current provider, which could explain all the persistent calls. I think I’ll hold off switching until the newer generation of smart meters is out and available.

I ended up scheduling an appointment for early January. However, I've got some reservations about the legitimacy of this call.
