3 yearsThis was definitely a scam. They claimed that an Amazon voucher worth £380 and over £1,000 had been withdrawn from my bank account without permission. It all started with an automated message pretending to be from my bank, telling me to press 2 to speak to a representative. When I did, a man with a foreign accent answered. I hung up straight away since I’d already fallen for this scam about two weeks before. They managed to get into my bank account, moved funds between accounts, then said the money in one of the accounts was stolen and I’d be in trouble if I didn’t pay it back. It sounded so convincing.
