somebody rang asking for thomas. i told them there’s no one here by that name, but they just said nope and hung up. not sure what that was about.

I got a call like this too, some bloke claiming to be from Currys, and he already had all my details. He was trying to get me to change my phone contract. When I told him I needed time to decide, he just wouldn’t back off and kept insisting I sign up right away. The whole thing gave me a strange vibe!

Claimed to be from Carphone Warehouse, but their tone seemed rather suspect, so I decided to end the call.

Got a call and answered with hello, the person asked if Claire was there (that's my mum) but then they just cut off right away.

I got a call from someone who seemed to know my phone contract was nearly up and even what phone I had. They promised to slash my monthly bill by half. The person rushed through a bunch of sales talk, said they weren’t tied to any particular network, but wanted me to switch providers to grab this unbelievable discount. They asked me to verify my full name, DOB and address, then pushed for my bank details and sort code to set up a new direct debit. When I said I wasn’t comfortable giving that out, they claimed the bank info wasn’t private, only the card number and security were sensitive. The caller got quite annoyed after I refused and just hung up. Definitely felt dodgy to me.

Some bloke rang me from a number based in Newport, said he was from the Carphone Warehouse main office. He even knew my name and when my phone contract ends. Bit spooky if you ask me...
