So it seems my Virgin router has been sending alerts back to the company, indicating that it might be under some sort of external threat. I acted a bit clueless, which wasn’t too difficult, to be fair, as I didn’t quite grasp what he was trying to explain. In the end, he just hung up on me!

I've received a call from this particular number for the second time within just a week. They let it ring for about 21 seconds, but as soon as the voicemail kicks in, they abruptly cut off. Quite frustratingly, they don't bother to leave any message.

I picked up the phone and was greeted by someone claiming they were verifying my eligibility for energy assistance. There seemed to be a lot of chatter in the background, which led me to believe I was on the line with a call centre—definitely gave off a spammy vibe. So, I decided to end the conversation quickly and hang up.

As soon as I picked up, they disconnected! It seemed they employed a local STD code to give the impression that the call was from nearby. Quite sneaky, if you ask me!

As soon as I picked up the call, they disconnected, so I've decided to block the number. Seems like a dodgy scam to me.
