Received a call from 01632960671 that somehow got past my call blocker. They claimed to have some info on me and said I could get 10% off my home appliance insurance since I was supposedly with British Gas and Barclays. I don’t use either of those, but I let them keep talking until they asked for my card details. That’s when I cut them off and said I’d be blocking the number for good!

Got a call from an Asian lady named Calli, claiming to be from D&G about some home insurance thing I never signed up for. She pushed hard to get my bank details, but I told her straight up I never give that kinda info over the phone. When I asked for her number to ring back, she gave me one that didn’t show up on my caller ID. The number she gave was 7595228119. Oddly enough, the call came from 01632960671 around 4.30 pm on Saturday. Felt a bit fishy to me.

Got a call from a woman claiming my insurance was with them, even though I told her I was insured through Saga. She said they were connected somehow. She had my card number already but kept asking for the expiry date, which I refused to give.

Got loads of calls supposedly from Domestic & General about our contents insurance. Just like others have mentioned, they claimed since we haven’t made any claims, we qualify for a discount. Today, they even dangled holiday vouchers as a sweetener! Decided to ring up D&G myself to confirm and they said they never contacted us. Total scam - watch out as they tried to get my card details for payment. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number claiming to be D & G. I honestly told them I’d already cancelled my account the previous week. The guy then said he was aware but still wanted my card info to process the cancellation. I kept saying no way, I’m not giving it, a few times until he finally gave up and ended the call. Just stand firm, folks, they usually back off after a bit!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Lloyds Bank, saying thanks for being a loyal customer. The funny bit is, I don’t even have an account with Lloyds!

Today, 06/01/2021, they rang us up four times in less than an hour pretending to be from Domestic & General. They tried to persuade my 80-year-old mum to give her card number and security code by offering three years of free insurance. Since we already have a policy with D&G, my mum nearly gave them her info, but luckily I was home and grabbed the phone away. I rang D&G straight away and they confirmed it was a scam. Definitely a con! Be careful and don’t hand over your personal info.

I keep getting calls from people claiming to be from some insurance company, saying my home and contents cover is up for renewal. It’s obviously a scam, probably from somewhere in Asia, trying to get my personal and banking info. I’ve had loads of calls and just keep giving them made-up details to waste their time.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic and General, saying they needed to verify my insurance and asking for card info and all that. Felt really dodgy to me. Beware!

I got a call from this number saying they were from a white goods insurance place. They already had my name and address and said they needed to check my card details. I refused and told them I wouldn’t be sharing any info, and they started getting a bit rude. Watch out, seems like they’re just trying to scam you for cash.

Got a call about home insurance for a place I moved out of nearly 8 years ago - really creepy how they even got that info. Pretty sure it was one of those fishing scams. Just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

So I've found out that 01632 isn't actually assigned to any real place. It's meant to be a made-up number for movies, TV shows, and novels. If you ever get a call from this number, just know it’s probably a scam!!

I had almost the same call as someone else mentioned here - thankfully I was there to grab the phone from my mum, who’s got dementia. It was about some white goods insurance, claiming it was a special deal. I told them to cancel any policy straight away and then they said we owed £8 and kept pushing for my card information. When I asked for their complaints line, they gave me a useless number and just cut me off - very disrespectful!

Got a call from someone knowing my name and where I live, which freaked me out a bit. She claimed I’ve been with their insurance since 2015 - total rubbish! I asked what insurance exactly, and she said something like Domestic & General for British Gas, which I’ve never had. Then came the proper scam bit - she told me since I’ve been a loyal customer, I qualify for a discount and just needed to confirm my bank info so they could send me the money. I couldn’t stop laughing and told her to just post me a cheque before putting the phone down. Too funny!

Got a call from scammers out of Asia pretending to be about renewing some insurance I never even signed up for. They kept pestering me to verify the same fake info I made up the last time they called! Definitely trying to trick for my bank details, but I wasn’t having any of it. They even recognised my made-up details from before. Proper dodgy!

Got a call from some random number again, no voicemail or anything left behind. Had a look it up here and, what do you know, just another timewaster probably doing some sort of scam or telemarketing rubbish. Blocked it straight away!

Got a call from a woman who said she was from Domestic and General, asking me to verify my card details. I told her no and asked if she could send the request through the post instead. I swear this Who Called Me site is a joke. Spent over 20 minutes trying to submit a detailed scam report and every time it just told me my info was too lengthy. You’d think a site like this would want all the nitty-gritty scam info so folks can be warned properly. Instead, it seems like all they want is a simple yes or no on whether the number is dodgy or not. Proper frustrating!

Got a call from a lady who sounded Asian, said she was from "the house contents insurance company." I asked her which company exactly, and she just went quiet. After a moment she muttered something hardly audible, so I asked her straight up who she worked for but got nothing back. I said, come on, you must know your own company! Then she just ended the call on me. Quite suspicious really.
