Got a call from Volvo Maidenhead about booking my car in for a service and MOT. It’s not a dodgy number, just a legit company trying to arrange an appointment. I’m actually located in Birmingham, so not sure why this particular branch wanted to reach me.

Got a couple of calls from this number today 10/08/17 and also from 02080568047 on 05/08/17, both times rang my mobile but no voicemail left. From what I found out, they’re one of those car accident claim firms, basically scammers. Proper annoying and a right pest, but luckily my iPhone lets me block their numbers which is a bit of a relief.

If anyone happens to have any extra details about this firm, like a company name or phone number, please do share. I’m with a company that specialises in taking personal info off various data sources, so any bit of info would really help with my research. Thanks in advance!

I got a call like that too, some woman saying she was Emma Mackintosh from Proficient accident helpline. The number showing was 0141 370 7238. She said they were aware I’d been in a no fault crash cause of the RTA records. For a second I nearly believed it but then thought better of it. Told her I don’t share personal details on calls and just ended it there.

She’s obviously got a hectic life! She told me her name’s Emma McIntosh and she’s from Proficient. The call came from a number I didn’t recognise, but it looks like the same person that’s popped up in loads of past reports. Classic car crash story again, which seems to be a favourite scam topic. Can’t really figure how they trick folks, but I guess they must get some victims now and again, or they wouldn’t keep going at it.

Just got a call from Emma MacIntosh with Proficient Helpline. When I asked where she got her info from, she said it was the RTA Statistics Department, apparently a global stats provider! I told her straight up that she’s been given rubbish info since I’ve never been in an accident - same as most others who pick up her calls. She ended the call after that.

Emma MacIntosh - just like the others, said I was involved in a no fault car crash. But the moment I asked questions, she just cut me off. Never did catch her real name! Really curious where they even got my number from, since it’s quite new and rarely listed anywhere.

Seems like they’re barely old enough but swearing like there’s no tomorrow.

Didn’t pick up and just blocked the number. Properly annoying!

Good job I ignored the call! Wow, Emma's really been active today, hasn’t she?!

Got a call out of the blue, must of been a wrong number?

Got a call today around 3:15pm right when I was having a pedicure. Such bad timing! Didn’t pick up and looked it up here, seems suspicious so I’m gonna block it from now on.

Emma is such a annoying pain, like seriously I’m only 13!! She’s totally gross and it’s so wrong. Yeah, I’m 13 and I just want to call out all this nonsense.

As soon as I picked up, the caller just hung up. Looked the number up here and seems like it was just some spam.

total rip off - just ignore and dont bother calling back

Spam calling non stop. Automated Accident help service. Calls me every single day. Feels like they’re stalking me?

Had a look at some of the responses and honestly, they sum it up perfectly. Trash people. Blocked straight away.

Received a call but there was no message or voicemail left behind.

Just had another waste of time, someone going on about an accident I supposedly had. They really need to find something better to do. Best thing is to just block them straight away!

Picked up the call and they just cut off. Tried calling back but the number didn't seem legit. Honestly, feeling a bit uneasy about my phone now.

Total scam. They told me I’d been in a car crash last week, so I played along. Then carried on going on about the accident, so I just told them I reckon they’re nothing but a con artist and hung up. Folks like that are a right pain in the neck.

I said hi but got no answer, just silence.

Believe it or not, I got into an accident even though I don’t even have a driving licence! Quite the unexpected thing, right?

Got a call from some helpline about my accident, I asked them where they got my details from and they claimed it was from the national accident records, but a quick bit of googling showed that’s not true at all. Told Emma that the info they had was wrong and that under the Data Protection Act she was obliged to delete it since I never agreed to them keeping false information. Naturally, she just ended the call.

I got a call from someone saying she was "Emma Makintosh". She told me I’d got into a car crash, but I just said no straight away. Then, after a few seconds, she asked when it supposedly happened. The whole thing sounded like a tape on loop. My “t####er” app showed a warning in red saying it might be spam. Not at all believable!

Just got a call from this same number, they claimed I’d been in some sort of accident. When I asked how they found my contact details, the lady just dropped the call. Strange behaviour if you ask me.

Annoying spam calls keep coming through and all I see is 'invalid number'. Zero clue who they could be. I've just gone ahead and blocked them now.

These so called ambulance chasers - the automated voice is really good, sounds just like someone speaking live.

I got a call from an unknown number and they told me I'd been in an accident, which I definitely hadn't. Probably shouldn't have picked up in the first place.

This number just rang me, and some woman called Emma Mackintosh kept going on about some 'accident' thing. Honestly, sounded more like a machine than a person, which wouldn’t surprise me with all these bots nowadays. Told her to buzz off, and she just quietly said alright. I ended the call there. I'm signed up with the TPS, so I'll be making sure to report this nuisance.

Well, I got a call this afternoon from an Emma MacKintosh, who was talking about an accident I supposedly had, which is news to me! Still, its kind of sweet that a stranger cares enough to check in. I really hope she and all the other Emma MacKintoshes she’s with have a lovely day.

I got a call from someone saying her name was Emma Mackintosh. I told her she had the wrong details and asked to be removed from their database. She just dropped the call without even saying sorry, which I found pretty rude. Then, annoyingly, I received another call from the same number the following day. It’s clear to me now that it’s some sort of robo call because it seemed like nothing I said mattered at all. Definitely spammy, and I’ve blocked the number. I’d recommend others do the same - if enough people block them, their automated system might finally stop working!

This number keeps popping up and it's clearly one of those automated calls for ambulance chasers. Every time I get through to someone and hold the line until they end it, my number still stays on their list. They just never take me off the calling list. It's so frustrating!

01628362573 I just ignored this call. After reading what others said, I’m relieved I didn’t pick up. It’s really messed up how random people can get hold of our phone numbers like that.

Got a call about some whiplash thing, sounded like a scam to me. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

here’s a tip: if you have no clue who’s calling, just let it ring. all these calls are just a waste of time with fake stories and stuff. they’re only after tricking people and making life harder for us honest folks.

Had a call today from someone named Emma Mckintosh claiming I’d been in a car crash. I asked her how she knew about it and she said something about the RTA statistics service. Then she started quizzing me on the accident details, but when I pushed her on when it supposedly happened, she just cut the call straight away! It was clear she was just reading off a script, didn’t sound genuine at all.

I just got a call from this number and told them I'd been in a car crash! They asked how I knew. Then, "Wait a moment, I'll get my manager." Manager says, "Hello, I understand you've been in a vehicle accident, can you tell me when and what happened?" I replied, "It happened on the M1 heading home from work. I was desperate for the loo but couldn’t hold it until the services, now my clothes are a mess! Am I eligible for any compensation?" Then the call suddenly cut off, haha.

Just like others have said before me, I got a call about a car crash that apparently wasn’t my fault. When I asked them how they even knew about it, they suddenly ended the call. Really suspicious stuff.

I got a call and as soon as I picked up, they ended it straight away. From what I’ve read in other stories, that’s probably the luckiest result you can hope for. Best thing is to just not bother with it at all.

Got a call on my cell from someone spouting that Emma Mc message, like the rest have done. No accidents for me in ages though... I shut it down quick after telling them exactly what I thought!

Got two calls today from someone pretending I’d been in a crash - total scam, don’t fall for it!

So apparently I’ve been told I was part of an accident, but it’s not my fault at all.

Received a call from this number, and they were rather keen to verify if I had been involved in a car crash. The moment I pressed them for specifics, they abruptly hung up. Quite peculiar, I must say!

It was the same caller as before, telling me "You’ve been in a car crash." I told them no, then they asked for the year. I repeated I hadn’t been in any accident and then they just hung up. When I answered there was a weird pause and the connection was terrible. I’m on the do not call register and they weren’t even using a blocked number.
