Got a call about some foreign insurance or PPI claim nonsense, so I just blocked the number straight away.

Got a ring from this number the other day, which happens to match my local code, so I thought I’d pick it up. It turned out to be some dodgy insurance/PPI claims outfit! It’s quite clever the way they’ve managed to make it look like a local call to liven up their chances of getting you to answer, yet they’re likely operating from miles away, possibly even abroad! I was curious about how they were pulling this off and was informed it’s due to them having servers scattered throughout the nation... but seriously, how is this permissible?? - the caller was a scammer from the insurance/PPI lot.
