On 15th Nov 2023 around 2.28pm, this number 01625921061 gave me a ring. Didn’t pick up but as soon as the answer machine started, they hung up. Could be some sort of scammers or just pesky callers harassing people?

Received a call from some dubious call centre with a strong Delhi accent, pretending to be something they're not - proper dodgy! Just a load of guff about whether my gas boiler is operating fine, filled with nonsensical chatter. Total scam artists, I reckon. Watch out for this lot!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who already knew my name. The moment I confirmed, she just hung up straight away. Pretty clear it was a scam. I didn’t hesitate to block the number.

Received a call purporting to be British Gas, asserting that my Boiler Cover had lapsed and that they intended to transfer me to a different plan. They had my postcode, which felt a bit dodgy. I decided the best course of action was to hang up and block the number straight away.

I ignored the call since the number wasn’t familiar to me. After looking it up here, turns out I have no connections in Macclesfield anyway. Definitely blocking this number now.

Got a call from someone saying they were with British Gas, trying to get me to renew a boiler service contract and supposedly save cash. Thing is, I’ve never had any contract with them, so it had to be a dodgy scam. Went straight to block.

I got a call claiming to be from British Gas, saying my boiler service was overdue. They kept asking me questions that I had to answer just yes or no. I’d heard about a scam where they record your voice saying yes and no, then use it to get into your accounts or something. Since I don’t have any deal with British Gas and don’t use them for my boiler, I just ended the call right away.
